On 6/13 there was a posting on PUFA's that incorrectly listed the fatty acid
LA as a precursor of DHA. Omega-6 fatty acids, such as linoleic acid (LA)
cannot be converted to omega-3's (such as DHA) by humans.
DHA is an omega-3 fatty acid, other omega-3 fatty acids, such as LNA are
precursors of DHA. Humans are not very efficient at synthesizing DHA from
precursors, therefore a dietary source of DHA is encouraged.
