A midwife in my office had a 6 week appointment with first time mom and baby. Baby is thriving, as reported by midwife. Concern raised by mom is that in the evenings, baby's spit ups smell is very fruity. Baby has some reflux-like issues and sleeps slightly inclined. Baby spit up the other night on the bed. By morning, fruit flies were flying around it in the morning. Midwife reported no family history of diabetes to me. There is no obvious evidence of candida.

I'm thinking fruit flies would like breastmilk. But it is odd about the very fruit-smelling breath.

Any suggestions would be great.
