Dear Colleagues

It's only been a about a week that the Globe, announcing the development
of the cookbook, made its way to the homes of ILCA members. Since then,
I have noted two negative comments, two positive comments on LACTNET.
The positive comments seemed to be responses to the negatives. Those who
responded negatively have advanced degrees so I could assume (and you
know what that stands for "making and ass out of u and me) that they
don't have to cook.

Even though the number of comments, positive and negative were few, it
saddens me and I am quite frankly embarrassed at the covert and overt
negativity that comes from people who should be knowledgeable enough to
not use this forum to ridicule suggestions made by ILCA or ILCA as an
organization. Is it not more professional to respond to ILCA directly
with constructive comments? It certainly takes more courage!

I have heard it said that "nurses eat their young". I see a select but
vocal few eating their ILCA colleagues. Maybe it's time for Kathleen
Bruce to repost the GENERAL LACTNET DO'S AND DON'T'S.
(I see she did - I was so angry I chose not to send this post
immediately)

I have enjoyed reading Lactnet immensely and have learned alot. I have
enjoyed the opportunity to contact subscribers privately and to also
search the archives for information.

I am also proud to be an ILCA member and would encourage every subscriber
to LACTNET to join ILCA. And when you have done that, become an active
member and help your organization grow by VOLUNTEERING!

We nurture and support the mothers and families we counsel. Lets do it
for ourselves also.
