  the longer I do this and the more that "we" all talk the more I think that
baby's who need "assistance" we have to allow them to grow out of this need
not "force"them out... as with all other avenues of child growth and
development.

   I am opposed to "clipping" of nipple shields. There have been anecdotal
reports of baby's mouth's being cut by the edge and if this baby needs this
"assistance" to feed well than we should allow it to "grow" out of this
need... not force this issue...

   Clipping may resolve the problem but I did not sense that this was going to
happen.

   Time and patience works wonders.
