Yes, I have a much harder time in the US than I did in Puerto Rico ... the doctors there understood,  because of Spanish pronunciation.

  In addition, we are well aware as bilinguals, that babies lose the skills to move their tongues the later they learn a language, which is why I encourage all the families I see to keep exposing their children to the sounds of their native language, despite the recommendations of their (usually monolingual) pediatricians in the US.

Yes, it is possible but not without a lot of speech and language training, which is often expensive and frustrating.

So thank you all for continuing this fight...and for sharing all your information as I continue to address the challenges in my county...
