There is a photo of the LCs finger, sweeping or feeling under the tongue  for 
a tie that is not visible. Could be a 3 or 4 but the article confirms they  
exist. Also the side bar on page 3 :what tongue tie can manifest as: , is often 
 something the parents recognize themselves in. It's all about the function, 
or  lack of, the tongue. I don't know of any articles specifically about 
sum-mucosal  ties. You could also bring along Cathy's book and go through the info 
with the  family together. The recent Pediatrics article is not about 
sub-mucosal  restrictions but it goes on functional limitations and pain before 
release,  and functional change after release.
