Ladies, my client has given me permission to post. She is still having some
issues with her 6 week old baby. She has had severe trouble with suck,
transfer and swallow with breast and bottle. Since day one mom reports that
baby has been stuffy at the nose. Other than Parents also report breathing
issues as mom has asthma. After anterior and recently posterior clipping
because baby was still not able to transfer milk from the breast, baby is
taking the bottle much better but is refusing to latch to the breast. After
the posterior clipping, Mom reports that the tongue now has better mobility
and milk doesn't dribble out of mouth with bottle. Baby does seem to be
fussy not only with latching, bottlefeeding and sometimes in between eating.
No signs of allergies other than the fussiness. Mom is exclusively pumping
and offering to baby and mom pumps out alot of milk. Mom reports she does
the 5 S's just to calm down the baby to eat or to settle down after eating.
It is as if everything is upsetting to this little infant. Mom is going to
see a CST this week. Any other suggestions? I am at a total loss. Thanks!
