You missed a very important point in my post.  I was responding to the point that you were 
concerned about foremilk/hindmilk imbalance.  This is the ONLY circumstance where I think a 
mother might be so overpumping --- which would not occur in more natural settings, that a baby 
might be only nursing off the foremilk and it might influence the conclusions about intake.  You were 
using this as an example of how the scale might be inaccurate.

Oversupply is one situation where, for the most part, I don't think a scale helps except for a few 
exceptions as stated.  My conclusions were that most of those on Lactnet would be good enough 
observers to determine this without a scale.  If you read my post carefully, you will see that it was a 
stretch for me to even think of any reason to use the scale.

The reasons when might really need to use a scale are highly unlikely to be situations when we are 
worried about some foremilk/hindmilk imbalance.
