Gee, since I am 5 feet tall and weigh about 95 lbs, I think if I ate 2700
calories every day that my little bones would just bend and break under the
extra weight. Gosh my Dad only weighs about 127 lbs, I don't think even he
consumes that much. So, we have to take into account the body frame,
metabolism, activity level etc of moms. I agree with the eat if hungry and
drink if thirsty guidelines. If you are losing weight and don't want to,
then eat more. If you are gaining weight and don't want to, eat less and/or
increase your activity level. Good nutrition is important for good health
but "perfect" diets are not a requirement for perfect bf. BTW, I went down
to 89 lbs while bf my first child. He was very healthy and chubby and I
really had to take time to make myself eat. I have a tendency to not eat,
often not stopping what I am doing to eat, and do not eat when under stress
etc.
