When I'm not reading my Lactnet messages, I also read Glamour.
Did anyone notice that July 1995 includes a listing of Twenty-five things
That Are harder than you Thought/Twenty-five Things that are Easier:
Nursing Your Baby is included under easier than you thought!
Glamour also included breastfeeding as one of the ways to avoid
breastcancer -- don't know whether that was last year or the year
before. I kick myself that I didn't send them a congratulatory letter.
They really do a pretty nice job on women's health articles.
they do have an e-mail address; I'll try to post it tomorrow when
I'm back at school. (They'll think us breastfeeders are pretty hot when
we all celebrate via the net!)
It was nice, by the way to hear of other people who know they
weaned prematurely at on-beyond ages. I prematurely weaned a 5-1/2 year
old when I was still nursing her 2-1/2 year old sister and pregnant with
my third baby. I still feel badly that I made her stop - and was amazed
at what a challenge it was to find other stress0reducing activities after
being her lovey for so long! (Her baby brother was wearing cowboy boots
and hat at 5 - and- 8 months when he said, "I'm all weaned now." "you are??"
"Yup." Dawn...the Green Mountain Mama of Southern Vermont
