Note that Indiana is not the first to make the mistake of thinking if there
is no legislation then it is against the law to breastfeed. When Florida's
bill was pending, a local Miami news show announced on the hour that a new
bill would legalize breastfeeding in Florida. The Miami Herald ran an
article setting forth fines and penalties for breastfeeding in public (took
it from the indecent exposure laws). And numerous other states announced
that it was against the law to breastfeed when their bills failed (can't
remember them ALL now - but there have been many).

Just wanted to clarify that legislation is designed to increase the rates of
women choosing to breastfeed, and NOT to legalize it - it already is legal.
Sometimes the legislation is to provide enforcement of the right. But this
is a common problem for the press to misinterpret it like this.
