A great resource on how you can get your employer to allow you time to
pump can be found in the book "Nursing Mother, Working Mother" by Gale
Pryor. There is an boilerplate letter that you can use that would be
very helpful. Also, you can talk to the person at Medela that handles
Sanvita - it used to be Rona Cohen, but I understand she has moved on as
of the 1st of the year. Some of the best lactation programs can be
found at the Aerospace Corporation and Eastman Kodak - both of which
Rona ran while she was at Sanvita.

It is hard to give advice with respect to this woman that works at the
Health Dept. without knowing her personally. Does she get breaks during
the day? If she gets even just a 15 minute break, she could probably
get her pumping done with a Medela Classic or Lactina. Tell her to buy
two kits - then she won't have to spend precious time washing pump
parts. She could also pump during her lunch hour. There is a cigarette
lighter adapter Medela makes - she could do it in her car if she had
to. All she really needs is some privacy and an electical outlet. Wish
her luck!
