Hi all!
Hope you had as great a holiday as I am having! (except for this darn
laryngitis! :) )

Anyway, I wanted to ask a question about doseage of Diflucan. I have a mom
and baby with chronic yeast, and mom is now feeling ductal yeast problems.
We are having a hard time getting her Dr. to believe that Diflucan is OK for
nursing moms and babies. If we can get him to prescribe for mom, what is the
reccommended doseage? She has had yeast problems for 9wks. Also, how would
this Dr. get Diflucan for the infant?
TIA! (BTW, they have been using Nystatin for 8 weeks, and it is no longer
doing anything! Mom has tried to change her diet, used white vinegar, etc.,
but to no avail. The yeast subsides a bit then comes back with a vengance.)
TIA for all info!

As for the update, remember a couple weeks back I had another client and baby
suffering from thrush, and the baby had green spots on her tongue? We found
out what it was. It wasn't anything of the fungal nature, thank goodness!
It seems that this mom had recently been given a new pair of flannel P.J.'s
that dropped lint balls like crazy. Guess what color? :) Yep! Green! She
even took baby into the Dr. to verify that it was little pieces of lint on
the babys tongue! Since this mom doesn't weaar a bra to bed, and she BFs a
lot at night, the lint, of course, would stick to her breasts and would then
be sucked off by the baby! Mystery solved!

TIA and happy New Year!
Jay
