I had a client who's baby with a fast growing hemangioma on the lip. It
became very difficult for this baby eat. Even though this baby nursed well
but couldn't eat solids Pediatric specialists in Hamilton and Toronto said
she should bottle feed. No one gave her an accurate reason why so she
didn't of course. These physcians had her so worried about the possibility
of a severe bleed before it resolved. Daycares would not take her because
of her bleeding possibilities. She eventually found a pediatric surgeon or
plastics specialty in London Ontario, who with mother's investigation on
the internet connected with a Doctor in Boston. They removed it but I'm not
sure. I can find out if necessary by going through my old files and calling
her.

Attie Sandink RN. IBCLC.
