Hello Royce and Lactnetters,
I purschased the Tanita Milky Way Baby Scale many years ago. I did not
search for my receipt but I would say it was 9 to 10 years ago.It costs less
than the Medela scale and appears and works exactly the same way. It has
been toted around all these years and was recently calibrated by the State
Department of Weights and Measures when I had it at work in a peds office.
It was off by .1 oz up to 20# and .2 oz over 20#. It does say in the
literature that it has that margin of error. That is still more accurate
than the physician office scale which only measures to the oz. and this
doesn't affect test weights since both the before and after weight will be
off by the same .1 oz. The instructions are a little hard to understand as
the translation isn't good, but if you know the Medela Scale, it is the
same. Below is the link to purchase the scale. I bought a carrying case with
mine, which they don't offer on the site. I think it is a necessity if you
are traveling with it. Somewhere along the way the AC adapter was lost so I
use it on batteries only. The batteries last a very long time in it. This
company did have the adapter available to purchase a replacement but I never
go t around to orddering it.
Here is the link to the scale.

It was a significant up front expense, but I have saved that money many
times over in not paying rent.
Hope this helps.
