I don't know if it's still in there, but the Childbirth Graphics flip chart
for bf educators had a little graph that showed that 90% (I think) of milk
consumption occurred in the first 15 minutes of feeding, and 75% in the first
5!!  I know, for years, before I did my own research (pre-IBCLC), I taught
(based on this chart) that 15 minutes on each side was a "normal" feeding,
and that little 5-minute "snacks" would be almost as good!  Needless to say,
I no longer teach this (or use the flip chart!), but perhaps this physician
is still using "old" information like this.

Carol--who just returned from "saving the Empire" with 4 pre-teens at "Return
of the Jedi"!
