Dear Lactnetters,

     My hospital is investigating revising our breastfeeding assessment.
Our new nurse manager suggested the LATCH Scoring Table by Jensen, Wallace,
& Kelsay:  Latch: A breastfeeding charting system and documentation tool,
from JOGNN 1994;23: 27 32. This was used at her former hopsital.
     My search of the archives only found 3 references to how breastfeeding
is assessed at different places, and the LATCH Scoring Table was mentioned.
     If anyone of you wise ones would be willing to share some of your
assessment tools or forms or if the LATCH system seems best at present, I
would be appreciative to help us revise our assessment of breastfeeding
initially.
