Dear Jonathan and other Lacnetters:

Sorry that I did not make my question clear in the post. My question is
is it necessary to massage the normal breast prenatally. There was one paper
showed that this made the breastfeeding more sucessful in Taiwan. And in
many hospital and in the nurse's school they still teach mothers to massage
the breast regularly after birth.I need more reference to convience others
that both prenatal and postnatal preparation for normal breast is not
necessary.(Some of our mothers think that breastfeeding is very bothersome
because they have to massage the breast frequently before and after birth.)

>We treat inverted nipples by having the mother wear a breast shell with
>a nipple-size hole during the third trimester, or by trying to break the
>adhesions with a reversed 6 - 12 cc. syringe. (Cut off the hub and a few
>mm. of barrel, remove the plunger and replace it backwards, then apply
>the smooth, rounded end to the nipple and pull the plunger to create
>vacuum.)
