Pam,

How old is this baby? The reason I ask is years ago we had a group mom
whose baby had a rash like this (she stated she was starting to get weird
looks at the local baby store for buying so much balmex) and was mixing it
with an antibacterial and antifungal (not nystatin). It was getting
marginally better - her baby also had severe food allergies and that was
part of what was making this rash so bad. Cutting foods out of her diet was
helping, the open sore was getting smaller - but was limiting so much what
she could eat it was hard to sustain. We also recommended plenty of air -
my co-Leader (Hi Katie if you're reading this) had the suggestion of putting
a shower curtain on the floor with towels and let her be bottomless for a
time.

Which is why I ask the baby age - could food allergies be making this rash
harder to clear up? One more idea to try.
