Well sadly my daughter (22yo) recently had a discussion with her friends 
concerning discipline.  Out of ALL her friends (at college), she is the only
one that had NEVER been hit in the name of discipline.  I didn't ask her if any 
of them had been breastfed, I don't think they "went there". I really was 
amazed to learn that in this day and age more humane forms of discipline are 
not really being practiced by the majority. I think she was quite frankly 
STUNNED and still couldn't believe it as she reported it to me. We can't figure 
out if it's socioeconomic (doesn't seem to be her friends are a cross section) 
or cultural (possibly).
