In a message dated 9/4/99 8:22:14 AM, a rightfully annoyed Jeanette writes:

<< I neglected to point out (thank goodness, I think it was best, in order to
try to keep some sort of communication going) that our Public Health Nurses
were finding moms with babies with inadequate weight gain thanks to her
recommendations - and were succeeding in getting baby's weights up with NO
SCHEDULE and breast compressions... >>

you did well considering the ignorance and sabotage you were faced with.

if you have the time and energy to deal with this, wait till you are over the
trauma of this phone conversation, write a F/U letter "thank you for your
phone call and concern expressed about our client ......." blah blah make
nice, then outline/explain the above concern you have, make the letter read
as if of course she would want to know about this concern. it may be better
to keep it general, not pointed directly at her, ie: "PHNs too often find
babies with inadequate weight gain due to misinterpreted feeding cues and
inappropriate feeding schedules and etc............,,,these dangerous
situations are frequently remedied by ............."

include articles and/or references as your time allows

should you cc her boss?

maybe suggest a lunch date to discuss this with her? (the HHN)

a separate report and recommendations to her and baby's doc

you've got your work cut out for you

maybe you were sent/moved to this place for a good reason
