I need some assistance please.  I have a client who has worked very hard
for 3 weeks to get BF going and now is being told that she will need to
d/c BF or pump and dump for 6 weeks and attempt to get the baby back to
the breast.  She is from Japan and will be returning in Nov, there is a
course that she NEEDS to take for her career that is not offered in
Japan.  The job involves working with chemicals that her MD has advised
against BF.  My gut feeling that with certain precautions that she may
continue to BF.  I do not have a chem or pharm background in order to
give her positive and definite answeres pertaining to each chemical.
Personally I feel that if there is any concern on her part she can pump
and dump during and following the class and BF at home.  The class is for
4 hours Tues, Wed, and Thurs and 8 hours on Sat(6 weeks).
She will be masking during the lab times.
The main active ingrediants are:
1.  ethyl cyanoacrylate - nail adhesive
2.  ethyl acetate 99%
3.  ABA - adhesive monomer
4.  butyl acetate
5.  benzoyl peroxide
6.  titanium dioxide
7.  ammonium hydroxide 28%
8.  ethyl methacrylate
9.  ethylene glycol dimethacrylate
10. dimethyl-p-toluidine
11. hydroquinone, methyl ether
12. hydroxyethyl methacrylate
I have spoken with her concerning options and choices but she seems
convinced that she needs to take this class.  She feels, somewhat
positive about pumping for 6 weeks and at least attempting to get her
baby back to the breast.  Of course she needs her answer before she
starts in 1 week.
