Lactnetters,

What is your collective wisdom regarding the use of gloves during a consult.
I have worked in one hospital setting where they are worn when potentially
handling any bodily fluids. I am returning to another setting where they
are not commonly worn by LCs.

A related question. What is the prevailing concern among LCs about type of
gloves? I have read some rather alarming reports of allergic reactions to
latex. In the past I had access to "non latex" type gloves but I
understand these are costly and not always available. I have several
references from a 1995 conference on Latex Allergy...just wondering what
others are doing about this issue.

Thanks in advance for your insights.
