Hi Lactnetters.

I'm planning to provide 'postpartum services' to my community soon.

I'm an LC, but will be promoting more of my postpartum doula services than
lactation consulting services. I consider it an added bonus that I am an
LC, not to mention a nurse.

I've worked as an LPN, CLC in a lactation department of a hospital for the
last three years. Before that I was a postpartum nurse in two different
hospitals for seven years. IBCLC in 2009.

Anyone else braved this path before me, being a postpartum doula LC? The
information out there (books, internet, other doulas or private practice
LCs) doesn't seem to fit my situation exactly, and I want to do this the
right way. There are postpartum doulas that are CBEs and CLCs, but I'd like
to connect with people who have done it who also have the IBCLC credential.

So, I am asking for a generous volunteer to correspond with for support and
advice, as I am at the beginning of my journey. I will return the favor to
future generations.

Thanks so much to all of you, for all that you have done for me, and all
that you do for mothers and babies.

Laura Dunn, LPN, IBCLC
Newberg, Oregon

PS I have Linda Smith's, *The Lactation Consultant in Private Practice*.
