Magda says,

<< When the
Journal of Human Lactation advertises a scale for weighing babies, why
shouldn't
others follow suit? I nearly DIED when I first saw *that* advert, and it
has
seriously coloured my perception of the journal. >>

But the JHL is a professional journal for professionals. As an IBCLC with a
fairly extensive practice, I have a scale in my office. I would expect that
other IBCLCs would too -- just as I would expect a scale in the
pediatrician's or nurse practitioner's office. I do not see that telling all
bf moms that they need a scale is anywhere near the same as advertising a
professional scale in the JHL.
