To those of you in the know:

I am interested in becoming an IBCLC, but have a humanities background and
so will have to follow the path for those who do not have healthcare
experience. I've been looking at job postings for lactation consultants over
the past few weeks, and almost everything I've seen requires the LC to also
be an RN. My question to you is, is it difficult to find an LC position
(whether at a hospital, community center, wherever) if you are not also an
RN? If so, is it even worth it to pursue LC certification if I do not have
plans of also becoming an RN?

Thanks for your comments.
