I have emailed Dr. Stephen Buescher and asked for him to comment on this.  I
have had the pleasure of hearing Dr. Buescher speak on two occasions and he
has an impressive CV with much research on the immunology of human milk.
His website is http://pediatrics.evms.edu/Faculty/Buescher.htm.  I, too, was
left with a very bad taste in my mouth after reading the Slate article.
