This is safe for both infants and bfdg moms.  We use it in the picu all the
time for very ill infants.  Ca gluconate is needed for normal electrolyte
balance etc.  Similar-simplistically of course- to synthroid for thryoid
replacement. You are giving something to return body to normal state!
