I don't know about Australian women, but yes, NZ women do seem to have
bountiful milk supplies - oversupply can be a problem - but i still see
issues with "perceived" inadequate milk supply too.
We do have a number of Ezzo-devotees and scheduled feedings - but i think
more women use baby-led feeding then schedules.

Am interested in the talk of bags to mums in hospitals - it confuses me a
bit as i think it is a non-event here...we have samples of things like nappy
rash cream, or herbal teas, (non-lactogogue things like raspberry leaf) or
sometimes even floor-cleaning stuff, and heaps of discount coupons for
photos, birth memorablia plates, magazines etc.
Now, sometimes i feel uncomfortable with the messages - eg you've got to use
this cleaner to make sure your house is clean enough for the baby - but on
the whole the packages are fairly innocent.
I don't see women expecting these freebies, and can't understand why this is
an issue in the USA? Do women want this stuff, or is it the hospitals
competing with each other to get women or what?
We have adopted the Code, but it only applies to 6 mo here so "weaning
foods" could be advertised/samples given.
