Yes, this contrast is compatible with breastfeeding.  I just looked it up
yesterday for a lady.  I did a Lactnet search using Optiray in the subject
heading, and found the following dialogue from Mary Kay Smith from the year
2001.  I don't think Mary Kay minds me copying and pasting it here.
"Cindy Curtis and I just chatted about this on 9/13. I was looking for the
saved email to forward but found this instead. Cindy, hope you don't mind if
I share."

 "the following information is taken from Dr Hales 2000 text. Radiopaque
agents (including optiray) are "extremely inert and do not release free
iodine (<0.005%) They do pass into human milk but the IV agents are virtually
unabsorbed orally (<0.1%). - which is the way most babies would receive the
agent "Although most company inserts suggest that an infant be removed from
the breast for 24 hours, no untoward effects have been reported with these
products., nor any indication of oral absorption by an infant." Dr Hale's
book lists this a s category L2 or "Safer" for use in breastfeeding. The peak
levels occur in less than one hour."
