I have managed to somehow delete the post I wanted to respond to, in which
someone quoted (I believe) a columnist asking how those who claim breasts
are not sexual would feel if she "paraded up and down topless in front of
their husband or sons."

I'm not married, but I do have three mostly-grown sons who have seen many,
many breasts. Most of our friends breastfeed, usually for many years, we've
had lots of LLL meetings at our home, and they have also been to topless
beaches and seen women topless at the festival in Guelph I mentioned
previously. We also have our home decorated with those wonderful INFACT
posters. My sons barely even notice if someone is breastfeeding (although
they are quietly horrified if they see babies being given bottles) and
seeing topless women doesn't get much of a reaction either. Breasts are just
breasts to them.

I can't remember if I shared this story before, but when my son Matthew's
wife Esmaralda was pregnant, she came to me one day with a question. She'd
seen some breastfeeding photos in the midwife's office and was concerned
because her nipples didn't look like the ones in the photo, and she wondered
if she'd have problems. Before I could answer, Matthew jumped in and said
"Oh, don't worry, nipples come in all different shapes and sizes and they
all work" and proceeded to describe some of the nipples he'd seen - in a
very matter-of-fact and reassuring way. (And her nipples did in fact work
just beautifully, and my grandson Sebastian who will be six months old soon
has still never had anything but his mother's milk.)
