Nikki Lee,

It is an interesting point that our entire society seems driven by
"surveys" many of which poll only a select population and then tell us they
are "random." Have you ever wondered who answers CNN polls? Why that would
be folks like us who have computers and read news stories.

Even if they are doing phone calls randomly, using a phone book.... Guess
how many people today don't have phones? I have heard more than 30% and
growing. Guess how many who do have phones aren't listed? Duess how many
have caller ID and don't answer?

The fact is that "polls" and "surveys" of this nature mean next to nothing.
And we are styling a culture off of them. Ha..... the final triumph of the
marketing industry!

Susan

How can these statistics be used with any reliability at all?
For one thing, they are marketing data. For another, they only
survey
white, black, and Hispanic people. Finally, their response rate is awful.
