...and I sometimes say (when mothers say 'I think he's just sucking
for comfort') that comfort's as important to the baby as the food and
drink, and in fact the baby doesn't really know the difference. Just
as you don't say to your partner who wants to share a hug with you,
'oh, you only want that for comfort' and you don't take away the
glass of water/wine/cola/beer/juice he's sipping as he watches TV
because he's 'only drinking it for comfort'...you don't need to worry
about the baby who's doing the same thing.
