Linda B.posted regarding a rash of red bumps on and near babies lips,
diaper area, and one of mom's nipples, associated with continual pain worse
while nursing.  I would consider using gentian violet tx. for yeast in this
case.  While rash as she described it is not typical, both the pain and the
mouth, nipple, bottom pathway are classic.  If mom is "non-medical" as
described, she will likely be receptive to the gentian violet tx. which
does not require a prescription.  This may not be yeast, but it won't do
harm to try, and if it doesn't work you've at least succeeded in ruling out
a possibility, which may prompt her to seek a dermatologists advice.
