Hi all,

I just **had** to share this with all my lactnet/lactivist friends. About a month ago
I went to a seminar and part of it was on cup feeding, showed the movie of a newborn cup
feeding, I was amazed that a newborn could do that and must admit a little sceptical.
But on the other hand I was dieing to try it. Well, we had a bottle feeding baby under
the bili lites for jaundice and mom was not at the hospital all the time, so I thought,
well heres my opportunity. So I go out a little medicine cup (its all we have) and
proceeded to feed the baby formula from the cup......... Boy was I amazed and
pleasantly surprised when he actually drank from the cup **just like the movie**........
I was so excited. So when next feeding time came around, I tried it again, and he did
it again and this time I showed the 3 other nurses who were there, you should of seen
the looks on their faces!! :0
I think the key is that the baby --must-- be awake and alert to do this. He took almost
2 ounces each feed and I DID NOT pour it into his mouth, he drank it!
Thanks for listening, just had to share this one :)
