From my perspective of years I want to say that the anti smoking campaign 
was not quick here in the US.  It built very slowly and  finally seemed to 
reach a critical mass point and then change started to happen more rapidly, 
legislation happened etc.

I'm sure many anti smoking proponents got tired along the way (like so many 
of us are) but not giving up is the key.  Cigarette manufacturers were every 
bit as sneaky, aggressive, rich & powerful as the formula industry, but they 
eventually got nailed.  People still "choose" to smoke, people will still 
"choose" to formula feed.  Our job is to make it easier for the mom who 
wants to breastfeed, to protect her, support her and promote BF to everyone
