Dear Friends:
This fabulous discussion about donor milk leads me to a question.
For decades, in the US, milk banks have had a monopoly on donor milk.
Now a new company is offering a challenge to that.
    What will HMBANA do?
I received a lovely post from a HMBANA milk bank coordinator, telling me
that the collection process can be done by mail and that it is working well.
I am glad to hear that, and it is news to me, as most health care
professionals I work with don't know about donor milk and have no idea that there is a
local milk bank. Thanks to our local resource guide, there is at least a
contact telephone number that I have given to mothers who have wished to donate
milk.
However, now there is a company that is reaching out to every birth
center across the nation........being very proactive.
    Interesting.
    warmly,
