Pat,

We had shigella while I was pregnant with #4. We were pretty proud (and
sick!!!) of our exotic disease until we looked it up. It is otherwise
commonly referred to as Dynsentery: The world's single most important reason
to continue breastfeeding.

I really wish my 20 month old was bf still as he lost alot of weight. He got
so bad I actually started alerting my friends that I needed donated milk for
him. Luckily it passed about then. From that experience alone I will not
allow this fourth child to wean before age 3!!!

Good luck!
