The newest Briggs, Freeman and Yaffe, 7th ed ( I treated myself to the book)
reports on 48 studies with mixed results of miscarriage, fetal anomalies and
normal babies. There is even a syndrome named Methotrexate Embryopathy.
Says the critical exposure period is 6-8 week s gestation, but even some
severe effects are reported in 2nd and 3rd trimesters. It also says
methotrexate may persist in tissues for a long period of time (I believe
half life deals with serum levels).

"Although methotrexate may persist in tissues for long periods, pregnancies
occurring ater treatment with methotrexate do not appear to be at a risk any
different from that of an unexposed population."

There is a toll free # to call if methotrexate is used during pg to enroll
patients in a study (877-311-8972)
