Hi All,
I have a brochure called The Bereaved Mother: Breast Care. It is a reproduceable brochure copywrited to L Pugmire, and seems to have originated from the University of Washington lactation Department. The brochure gives permission to reproduce but it is old and has been photocopied so may times that the copy I have is very fuzzy. I set about rewriting it and found myself "improving" it instead. But I have kept big chunks of the original brochure (eg quotes from bereaved mothers)and I want to contact L Pugmire to get her/his permission to adapt it. I did a google search and found one reference "Consulting with the bereaved mother. L. Pugmire, Journal of Human Lactation Vol. 15 (1) Mar. ‘99 pp 49-53 " But don't have access to that edition of the journal.

I am hoping that someone out there in lactnet land might be able to look up the article for me and see if there is contact information for the author.

Many thanks

Cathy Loughman RN IBCLC, San Jose, CA

Subject: binding breasts after stillbirth

Trivial question:
Tonight on ER, a baby died stillborn (I'm not sure how many weeks). Afterwards, they showed the mom having her breasts ratherly tightly bound with wide bandages.
Do they still do this to prevent the milk from coming in???
