There is currently a commercial running in Manitoba which states, "The only safe level of alcohol consumption when you are pregnant or nursing is none at all." 

I've been e-mailing the Manitoba Liquor Commission, etc., and just got a response which told me I should contact Dr. Mennella, as she has "the most authoritative references on the subject."  She is supposedly a "leading expert in this area
", but this is the first I've heard of her.
