My business partner recently attended a function for the opening of a new
breastfeeding clinic. She got chatting to a friendly paediatrician who
informed her that he did not believe in research because the women in the
squatter camps breastfeed naturally without problems (not true!) and the
women in the southern suburbs, who have access to research, have problems
with breastfeeding. (They have myths - not evidenced-based info!)

According to him, breastfed babies have tighter anuses than their formula
fed counterparts and this results in "breastfeeding colic". To treat this,
he inserts his finger with cortisone cream into the baby's anus. This
"releases" a liquid stool and the baby never has colic again! I am
wondering if the mothers ever bring their babies back to him again!
