Having seen many rashes in newborns come to WIC there are some first stops to
try. I think the thing that caused the most problems that I saw were the
diaper wipes. So many babies are sensitive to them. Then there are some
brands of disposable diapers that make some babies rash. We found in the area
I was living that the water was slightly acidic and the Ivory soap didn't
rinse out well, changing to another brand helped. How about lotions, mom's
perfume or lotion or other compounds that the baby may come in contact with in
Mom's arms or Mom's bed.

Surely some of these things should be eliminated before breastfeeding is
sacrificed-only to find out that wasn't it either.
