Sorry Terry,
That must be sooo frustrating. Take a deep breath. Just do what is
resonable to do or you are gonna get so burnt out that you may want to
throw in the towel. Set your focus on one mom at a time till things settle a
bit at your hospital. It is unreasonable for staff to think you can see all those
pts in a short amt of time. I too work in a hosp environment with not nearly
the caseload you have. One day at a time. Focus on the moms who want to
breastfeed and help those to the best of your ability. Now is not the time to
try and educate everyone about breastfeeding including moms that choose to
bottle feed. You must save your energy for those who need support. I'm
sorry, but when push comes to shove you will burn out if you try to do IT
ALL. You can't! Help the ones that want the help....Once the renovation is
completed and you hopefully get some more help, then resume all the
education and teaching of staff. I'm sorry about the nurses giving so much
supplement but tackle that another day. I don't see how you keep your head
afloat as it is. My hats off too you.

Good luck on the exam...I know you will pass.
Best,
robin
