Here are the results of the 60 people who submitted votes on the favorite
terms for formula. The first column is the Acronym(and phrase for the
Acronym). The Next Column are the votes from Lactnetters, and the Next
column are the votes from alt.support.breastfeeding. The last column is the
total of both and was used to rack the terms. All terms are listed even the
ones that received no votes.

My personal favorite is..........."BMS" Breast Milk Substitutes. I say this
because it is not offensive, and describes what the real product is and
proclaims "everything else"as a substitute. Substitute also covers all the
subsitutes: formula, cowsmilk, water, D10, teas, homemade formula. BMS also
is the term that WHO uses in the Code for the marketing for Breast Milk
Substitutes. Lastly this term will probably translate into languages other
than English better than ABM, PIMP, etc...

Respectfully Submitted,
Jon Ahrendsen MD.
