I admit it is my fantasy scales for weighing humans are banned from the
world as we know it. ;-) I am studying and learning, and while I know
weight can be an indicator, another thing to look at in evaluation, etc, I
am wondering is there anytime we really NEED to know the weight as in if we
DON'T know the weight of the child it's going to cause some major
catastrophe that could have been avoided if we'd just known how much the
kid weighed?

I am not talking wrt to medication administration, etc, I am talking soley
wrt to breastfeeding and infant/child nutrition.

I have met women who are furious with their LCs for not telling them to use
formula or supplement because their children were underweight... in other
words, their children were say in the 30th % on those silly charts.
Weighing just causes paranoia in my experience. I would think if a baby
wasn't being fed enough, he'd look it and show signs of it no matter his
weight. Or am I off...
