Okay folks!   I just did  a talk in Orlando, FL about "Metaphors and Concepts
That We Utilize to Help our Breastfeeding Mothers".

Here is an "example" for engorgement:
    Imagine that your breast is a balloon.  As your breast fills with milk,
it is a lot like a balloon filling with air.  The balloon initially looks
like it has a nipple, but as it fills up, the nipple flattens.  Milk pools
behind the areolar tissue, and as a result, your nipple becomes flatter, and
it becomes more difficult for the baby to latch.  Expressing some milk for
the baby to have a supple nipple to latch onto can facilitate the feed...

    I thought that LACTNET would be a great resource for more metaphors.
