"and experiencing chemotherapy during breastfeeding"

Are you talking about pump & dump for 5 half lives & resume or is there
another option that you are aware of?
Linda,
Yes, that's what I'm referring to....sorry! I was using the language that
was more basic because I was envisioning my audience as the actual Y-Me group
instead of my educated lactnet audience. And, using broad terms to be speedy,
instead of wording it in details since I'm aware it's been addressed here on
lactnet before. Anyone can do a search and find out the chemo. routines. So,
the audience I'm addressing believes any woman having chemo has no option but
to stop breastfeeding because that's what the medical docs around here tell
them to do. As the lactation expert, I want to inform my community of their
options so that they can make informed choices.....hmm....no wonder the docs don't
like me! (I really don't know this!) But, I apparently create work for them,
don't I? Oh well! It's the right thing for the mom and the baby, and it
promotes breastfeeding....that's my job, isn't it?

Sincerely,
Carol Chamblin, RN, MS, IBCLC
