Hi all,
I spoke with a mom this week who related having had a badly cracked nipple on one side at first which has since healed with improved latching . She now has no pain during feedings but is experiencing deep intense pain in the inner area radiating to the breast bone in that breast between feeds. She describes it like electricity. I am thinking it may be duct stretching from the milk refilling and moving down with let downs but is it more intense on this side because of the previous crack and nerve damage? Also I think I had read on lactnet that certain supplements may help with this but can't find it in archives. Baby is now 1 month old. She is wondering if there is anything she can do to improve it and how long it may last? Any information greatly appreciated.
