**Wouldn't that be the best solution by far...? Sticking a (gloved! try for 
yourself... bah!) finger in a newborn, to me would look like a very invasive 
thing to do.
Shouldn't mom's breast be the first thing a baby tastes, her soft, sweet 
skin offering soft, sweet nutrition and nurture...?
And apart from that... isn't it early enough to check these things AFTER the 
first feed, if any problem seems to arise?
